"Halali, Halalo!"

Eberswalde bids farewell to the foolish season

The 112-day reign of the fools in Eberswalde town hall ended with a final "Halali, Halalo". The "Fifth Season" in Eberswalde has come to an end. After the traditional handover of the keys on 11 November 2024, the colourful folk returned the keys to the town hall on Rose Monday at 3 pm.

As is customary, the Eberswalde Forest Carnival moved into the town hall foyer on the afternoon of Rose Monday and ceremoniously handed the key back into the hands of Mayor Götz Herrmann. Under the watchful gaze of dozens of pairs of eyes, this year's handover was introduced by a dance performance from the new "Sonnenschein" co-operative daycare centre.

The carnival activities have always been organised by the Eberswalder Forstfasching e.V. - this year under the motto "Feel the music - Love is in the air". "It is thanks to the many volunteers that a colourful carnival comes to the town every year. The elaborate stage sets, the hilarious goings-on and lots of fun take us away from everyday life for a moment. With its programme, dancing and live music, the Eberswalde Forest Carnival contributes to the cultural diversity of Eberswalde," said Götz Herrmann in his short laudatory speech at the presentation of the Order of Thanks 2025 to Christin Hofmann, Nicole Mante and Claudia Narbei.

Until 11 November 2025, when it's time again for: Halali! Halalo!
