Exhibition opening with a sonorous performance

On Wednesday evening, 21 May 2025, the exhibition "Lebensräume im Umbruch" by the artists annhoff opened at the Kleine Galerie Eberswalde.

"Tree in distress" was the title of the performance, which thematically prepared visitors for the exhibition in the SparkassenForum. annhoff staged himself as a tree that, plagued by heat and drought, falls to the ground and makes an appeal to the audience: "Human greed for profit is destroying nature. Treat it well, because it is the basis of our existence!" The artist was accompanied in her performance by photographer Rebekka Eversmann, who concluded the introduction with a laudatory speech. Jazz saxophonist and sound architect Wenzel Benn provided musical accompaniment, creating an atmosphere of turmoil.

In the current exhibition at the Kleine Galerie, visitors can look forward to detailed cyanotypes and collages, which annhoff has repeatedly expanded over long periods of time. These represent parts of the work cycles "Frankfurt Oder", "What have we done" or "Paradise Lost" and offer the viewer ever new organic forms and silhouettes. In addition, the sculptures "Tree Mutants" can also be seen as "Tree Creations of the Future".

The exhibition will be on display at the Kleine Galerie Eberswalde in the SparkassenForum until 10 July. Admission is free.
