The desired proposals are then realised in the following year with the citizens' budget.

Questions about the citizens' budget
The city of Eberswalde has decided to allow its residents to participate in the development of the city far beyond what is legally possible.
For this purpose, there is a special budget that Eberswalde residents can decide on themselves - the so-called "citizens' budget".
At least €50,000 is made available each year.
Proposals must not cost more than €10,000 so that as many ideas as possible can be realised from the budget.
Furthermore, an organisation that has received funding from the citizens' budget, for example, may not receive any more funding (from the citizens' budget) for three years.
All Eberswalde residents who are at least 14 years old. Nationality is irrelevant - all people living in Eberswalde aged 14 and over can take part.
You can submit your own suggestions and also vote on them (direct democracy).
The online vote usually begins two weeks before the so-called "Day of Decision" (this is the on-site vote, which traditionally takes place in September).
On Decision Day, the people of Eberswalde can decide which ideas will be supported with the funds in the coming year.
You can submit proposals all year round.
