Culture is an integral part of social life in our town and has become a key factor in Eberswalde’s appeal as a place to live. The town supports cultural projects through grants, subject to guidelines on municipal cultural funding (Cultural Funding Guidelines) adopted by the town council.

Eberswalde Cultural Strategy
Through a participatory process involving cultural practitioners, the Cultural Advisory Board, representatives of the city administration and interested members of the public, a cultural strategy for the city of Eberswalde was developed and adopted by the city council in 2024.
The aim is to shape Eberswalde’s cultural landscape for the future: through greater participation, new formats, closer cooperation and culture as a factor in the town’s identity, quality of life and community spirit. Culture through participation.

A look back at our workshop: ‘From idea to funding – cultural funding in Eberswalde’
On 19 March 2026, a workshop was held for the first time at the Amadeu Antonio Community Education Centre (BBZ)‘From Idea to Funding – Cultural Funding in Eberswalde’. We were delighted to welcome over 30 cultural and artistic practitioners. The focus was on questions regarding the city’s new cultural funding guidelines, the requirements for a successful application, and the fundamental question of how cultural funding can be effectively organised at a local level. Afterwards, participants took the opportunity to engage in open discussion, get to know one another and further develop joint project ideas. |
