Our town
Our town of Eberswalde is just 30 minutes from Berlin. Surrounded by forests and lakes, we pride ourselves on being the ‘cultural capital’ of the north-east and a growing business hub, offering a full range of educational opportunities and plenty of space for families.

The new promotional brochure highlights the benefits and charms of city life amidst lush greenery, whilst remaining close to ‘the big B’ – the city of Berlin.
The image of our town
In collaboration with the agency INTO Branding and a working group from the local authority, a new corporate identity has been developed, which will replace the old design from 21 June 2024. As part of this process, the town’s website has also been updated accordingly.
Why a new design?
The city logo, developed in the 1990s, and the associated design guidelines have been continuously refined and expanded in recent years, meaning that a strong, consistent image was no longer being communicated to the outside world. Furthermore, new media formats have emerged over the last 25 years, with which the elements of the corporate design are no longer compatible. A common visual language is particularly important in the areas of tourism and city marketing.
What is the story behind the new logo?
The Eberswalde town logo is a combined word and figurative mark, comprising the boar ‘Ewald’ as the figurative element and the lettering ‘Stadt Eberswalde’ as the word mark. The boar defines the visual identity of Eberswalde’s logo and is a real crowd-pleaser. As a fitting representative of the town, he embodies not only friendliness and dynamism but also a subtle non-conformity that is authentic and genuine – just like our town.
The colour scheme for the new design was taken from the colours of the flag – thus linking the town’s historical roots with a modern and self-assured image for the local authority.
Who is permitted to use the logo?
The logo is to be used solely for the official communications of Eberswalde City Council. It is protected by copyright. Permission to use it may be requested from the City Marketing Department. A proof must be submitted to the City of Eberswalde prior to publication. The logo may only be used once approval has been granted. The logo must not be graphically altered or expanded in any way and must only be used in accordance with the design manual.
