You need courage to step onto a stage, to sing or dance, to shape an animal out of clay or to paint a really big graffiti, to recite a poem at a poetry slam or to deal with your story, to think up a computer game and to put on a performance or a play.

We could go on at length about how engaging with the aesthetic arts and cultural education, including theatre/performing arts, dance, visual arts, music, literature, museums, film and photography, allows you to experience self-efficacy and boosts your creativity. That this is part of general education and important for the understanding of democracy and the development of social and emotional competence in children and young people.
