Exhibition “Walk through Eberswalde” now open

On Tuesday, October 14, 2025, the exhibition “A Walk Through Eberswalde” by artist Bernd Hübner was officially opened at Eberswalde Town Hall. Mayor Götz Herrmann and Head of Cultural Affairs Nicole Sachse-Handke welcomed the guests before the artist himself introduced his work.

The exhibition presents views of Eberswalde from the perspective of the painter, whose works bear witness to decades of intensive engagement with the region. With technical sensitivity and artistic precision, Hübner captures the atmosphere of various locations, for example through expressive oil paintings of the Finow Canal. His paintings reflect the complexity of his hometown and bring its character to life.

As a trained master painter, Hübner passes on his experience with various techniques as artistic director of the art association “Märkische Schmierfinken e.V.” In doing so, he emphasizes not only technical precision but also the importance of personal conversations in the creative process. “It's very much about providing a visual platform for the places and people in Eberswalde. Painting thus becomes a tribute to the city and its surroundings,” Hübner said in conversation with the guests.

The exhibition is expected to run until Friday, January 16, 2026, during the regular opening hours of the town hall.

Admission is free.
