Town hall exhibition "honey & haze. Between light and melancholy"

On 21 April 2026, the exhibition "honey & haze. Between light and melancholy" by artist Therese Weinhonig was officially opened at the town hall on 21 April 2026. The exhibition can be viewed during regular opening hours on the gallery floor (2nd floor) of the town hall.

Therese Weinhonig, born in Eberswalde in 1992 and now living in Denmark and Flensburg, has been dedicated to art since her childhood. Her first involvement with creative work began in the zoo school at Eberswalde Zoo. Until 2012, she initially exhibited as a photographer under her former name Therese Narbei in the region, including at the Naturfreundehaus am Üdersee and at the Kreisfotoschau. Her last exhibition of oil paintings took place in October 2025 as part of the Flensburg Culture Night.

In her paintings, Weinhonig sees art as a bridge between people and as an expression of invisible feelings. In "honey & haze", the works move in the field of tension between the inner and outer world, closeness and distance, darkness and light. Melancholy is not experienced here as a burden, but as a protective veil. The paintings function as membranes for emotions such as pain, longing and loneliness, but also for tenderness, courage and self-assertion. They elude clear interpretations and open up a space in which vulnerability and resistance, emptiness and comfort can be experienced simultaneously.

The exhibition is an invitation to experience the nuances of human emotions through colour and light. Interested parties can visit the works in the town hall until 12 June 2026. Further impressions are also available on the artist's Instagram profile at @weinhonig_art.
