Review

Here you will find the results of the citizens' budget from the last few years with information on the proposals submitted and the projects implemented.

On 28 June 2012, the new statutes for the participatory budget of the city of Eberswalde were adopted and residents had until 31 August 2012 to submit proposals for how the funds from the participatory budget should be spent. Eberswalde residents therefore only had 2 months to submit their proposals, but a high number of proposals totalling94 proposals from 76 peoplewere received by the city administration.

overview of all proposals for the 2013 citizens' budget:

The"Day of Decision"was once again held in the district council chamber of the Paul Wunderlich Haus. The forecast that around 500 Eberswalde residents would come to vote was exceeded by far. more than 1,000 people voted by ballot and thus distributed the €100,000 available.

From the outset, it was decided to lower the voting age from 16 to 14 in order to introduce young people in particular to co-determination. Furthermore, a cost limit was introduced so that as many proposals as possible can be realised. The limit for a proposal is €15,000, which means that at least 7 proposals can be realised with a citizens' budget of €100,000.

The following projects and proposals were realised with the Eberswalde citizens' budget in 2014:

  • 15.000€ to FSV Lok Eberswalde for the stadium upgrade
  • 10.000€ to the "Im Zwergenland" daycare centre for a small playing field

However, there were also some innovations compared to the previous year. For example, for the first timeScreens for the suggestion vasesso that participants could not see which proposal was already in front during the vote. Furthermore, the 5 voting talers to be handed out were placed in anOrganza bagto speed up the distribution process.

the wealth of ideas in the Eberswalde citizens' budget is something to be proud of. The city administration received a total of122 proposals from 112 submitters. Even in the third year of the new participatory budget, interest continues to grow massively.

On Saturday, 24 September 2016, the 2017 citizens' budget was voted on in the family garden. Every Eberswalde resident aged 14 and over was able to collect their voting tokens between 10 am and 6 pm and distribute them among their favourite proposals.

over 4,000 visitors flocked to the family garden and 2,698 Eberswalde residents voted directly and democratically on the projects to be realised with the citizens' budget in the following year.

From 12 noon, there was a colourful programme with lots of hands-on activities around the Hufeisenfabrik (where the vote took place). Children could do handicrafts at the day-care centre stand, design flower pots at another stand or print their own bags and shirts at the Druckrausch stand. The St John Ambulance, the "Healthy Children" network and LOK Eberswalde provided information about their voluntary work. Skill was tested at the cheese boards, where small prizes could also be won. The cornholes were a sporting attraction and Niko Malabar played music in the sunshine under the apple trees. There was also plenty to eat and drink - with vegetarian dishes such as red lentil soup or quiches from Gutes Drauf, or grilled food from Schleusenkrug. For dessert, visitors could enjoy a homemade ice cream from Eis Eis Baby. From 5 pm, the band "Leona Heine & Friends" performed on the stage in the Hufeisenfabrik, which also provided the musical backdrop for the count.
