Christmas market in the Brandenburg neighbourhood
This year's 20th Christmas market in the Brandenburg Quarter was a highlight and attracted numerous visitors from near and far. Guests were able to immerse themselves in a festive atmosphere characterised by the enchanting lighting, lovingly decorated stalls and Christmas music. The market offered a wide range of products, from handmade gifts and homemade Advent wreaths to culinary delights, as well as numerous children's attractions such as a carousel, Christmas tree bowling and, of course, making wishes directly to Father Christmas. Of course, the traditional stollen cutting by our mayor, Mr Götz Hermann, was also a must.
The laser show for the 20th anniversary brought a sparkle to everyone's eyes, but above all the sparkle in the children's eyes is and remains, as every year, the highlight of the pre-Christmas period.
With this in mind, we would like to thank everyone who contributed to the success of this Christmas market - whether by visiting, helping or organising. A big thank you naturally goes to all those involved. This year, these included: Bäckerei Wiese, Kreisverkehrswacht, Galerie Fenster, SV Motor Eberswalde, Buckow e.V., SPI, MAD's self-help group, Dietrich Bonhoeffer Haus, Projekt Imkern im Quartier, Muggels Stübchen, Kontakt e.V., Jugendclub Stino, AWO, Büro Blau, ChrissCo's, Welcome Centre, Club am Wald, Grillmeister, the singer Anne Fraune and the Handpan Percussion Duo.
We wish everyone a happy new year. Stay healthy, love goes out!

20th anniversary of the Christmas market in the Brandenburg neighbourhood
We cordially invite you to this year's Christmas market at Potsdamer Platz on 15 December 2024 from 14:00 - 18:00.
This year we are celebrating a very special anniversary. Together with you, we would like to celebrate 20 years of a festive Christmas atmosphere in the Brandenburg Quarter!
Look forward with us to atmospheric lights and festive decorations. Discover numerous stalls with delicacies, handmade gifts and a small flea market. Once again this year, the Christmas market will traditionally open with the cutting of the stollen from the Wiese bakery by our mayor Götz Hermann. A Christmas stage programme, a carousel and many other programme items provide entertainment for the whole family. Finally, let yourself be enchanted by a breathtaking light show as the grand finale.
We look forward to your visit!
Reorganisation of the Board of Spokespersons
The Council of Spokespersons was reconstituted on 7 November 2024 and currently consists of 17 members. At the meeting, members of the Speakers' Council appointed their new chairperson (Maren Gumlich) and deputy chairperson (Wolfgang Müller) for a two-year term of office. The Spokesperson's Council is made up of residents and organisations from the Brandenburg Quarter. At the quarterly public meetings, the members decide on the allocation of urban development funding from the federal "Social Cohesion" programme in the Brandenburg Quarter and discuss current developments.

Placement of the photo exhibition
The winner has been chosen!
A huge thank you to everyone who took part in the "Your view of the Brandenburg neighbourhood" photo competition! From 8 to 19 July, visitors to the community centre, during the Fête de la Viertel and on Clean Up Day/Sauberswalde had the opportunity to choose their favourite photos. A total of 195 people voted and got a great insight into our neighbourhood!
Congratulations to our winner Zhiyuan J.! His picture "Primary School Schwärzesee 2" received the most votes. Second place went to the pictures "The miracle of the pine cone" and "In nature", which received the same number of votes. And third place went to "Grundschule Schwärzesee 1".
As a small thank you, each participant will receive an annual calendar for 2025, designed with the best photos from the exhibition.
Stay tuned for more exciting actions! #Photo competition #Brandenburg neighbourhood #ThanksAll
Sauberswalde
On Saturday, 21 September 2024, it was time again: Sauberswalde took place as part of World Clean Up Day. We also tackled the Brandenburg neighbourhood together and ensured a clean environment. In bright sunshine, we collected everything that didn't belong in nature from 10 a.m. together with Büro Blau, the Stadtfüchse, the Berufsbildungsverein Eberswalde-Wohnverbund and many committed residents.
After the work was done, there was a well-earned refreshment at the stand of Kontakt e.V. and the Welcome Centre Eberswalde. And for anyone who still had energy left, there was the opportunity to stroll around the flea market, visit the photo exhibition "The Brandenburg neighbourhood from your perspective" and vote or find out more about the exciting "Beekeeping in the neighbourhood" project.
A huge thank you to everyone who helped out on this day! Special thanks also go to the Wiese bakery for the delicious bread rolls!
