Why spring cleaning?
Unfortunately, too much rubbish is still carelessly disposed of in the countryside. As it should not remain there, we are cleaning up the rubbish together for a liveable Eberswalde. Join us and get active.
We will collect rubbish together at 7 locations.We are calling on all citizens, schools, kindergartens and clubs to join us in getting active.
Give our nature a little time and free forests, parks, hiking trails or roadsides from rubbish lying around to make our beautiful nature worth experiencing again!
The rubbish will then be picked up by the Eberswalde municipal building yard and disposed of properly.
Safety first!
Please bring gloves and sturdy shoes with you to protect yourselves at work. We collect waste in rubbish bags at designated collection points. We report unmanageable waste using the BDG waste app. The waste bags will then be collected by the Eberswalde municipal building yard from 1 pm. Kreiswerke Barnim, representing the district of Barnim, will collect the waste free of charge.
Collecting rubbish is not really a dangerous matter. For self-protection, we ask all participants to take the following things into account:
- Wear sturdy shoes
- If available, bring work gloves and wear them during the campaign
- Dress appropriately for the weather and think about sun protection if necessary
- Parents should look after their children themselves. The organisers cannot do this.
- Participation is voluntary and at your own risk.
- Avoid anything that seems unsafe and contact the organisers if necessary.
Locations
Already on 20 Marchone day before the official spring cleaning of the city of Eberswalde, our big rubbish collection campaign "Sauberswalde" will take place in the Brandenburg neighbourhood. We also want to set an example for environmental awareness and a clean neighbourhood!
Numerous dedicated children from the primary schools and daycare centres will be out and about in the neighbouring woods and throughout the district to collect litter - supported by their educational teams.
Residents and other interested parties are also invited to join the call and clear litter from pavements, parks and public spaces on their own initiative. Every contribution counts! The rubbish will then be collected at the meeting point.

All collected waste can be handed in at the central collection point. The Stadtfüchse will provide a bit of fun and learning with small games and activities on the subject of the environment.

Welcome to the forest cleaning day. Together with the Brandenburg Forestry Association, the Young Forestry Network and the Schutzgemeinschaft Deutscher Wald Brandenburg e. V., the city forester invites you to clean up rubbish in the forest in the south of the Brandenburg neighbourhood.
Drinks will be provided for all those who lend a hand.

Welcome to collect litter in and along the Schwärze and Finow Canal with waders and Kannadier. We invite you to join us on 21 March at 10:00 am on the HNEE city campus at Schicklerstraße 5.
After a briefing, we will form teams to collect rubbish together in the Schwärze and the surrounding area as well as the Finow Canal.
Please bring gloves and sturdy shoes as work protection (do not protect against labour). Rubber boots are also useful at the Schwärze.
We also collect waste with waders, which we can provide for you. We put the rubbish in rubbish bags at designated collection points. We report unmanageable waste using the BDG waste app. The rubbish bags will then be collected by the Eberswalde municipal building yard from 1.00 pm.
From 12.30 pm we will meet again on the university grounds and there will be homemade pizza. A delicious lunch will be provided on this day.

Dear neighbours,
as part of the "Sauberswalde" campaign, we would like to get active together with the Barnim district works and make our neighbourhood in Ostend a little cleaner. We would therefore like to invite you to a joint rubbish collection campaign. Whether alone, with friends or with the whole family - every helping hand counts!

After the collection campaign, we will bring the day to a cosy close at Kreiswerke Barnim - with a picnic and games for the whole family about waste separation and recycling. Please bring gloves, weatherproof clothing and a snack for the picnic. Rubbish bags and tongs will be provided.

In the Leibniz Quarter, also known as the biscuit quarter, there are unfortunately more than just crumbs lying around. To make the area along the Finow Canal and around the new medical centre, OSZ II and the blocks of flats a little more appetising again, the Unser Finowkanal association and the Eberswalde Family Alliance are inviting you to a rubbish collection campaign as part of Sauberswalde!
We will meet on 21 March 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at the landing stage on the city promenade, equip ourselves with bin bags, gloves, grabbers (please bring everything you already have!) and lots of good humour. Then it's off to the site.

Dear people of Finow,
we would like to call for a community spring clean in our beautiful Finow again this year.
With the support of the city of Eberswalde, we invite you to join us at 10:00 a.m. at the fairground at Schwanenteich in Marktstraße 4.
After a welcome from our board and a short safety briefing, we will form teams to collect rubbish around the Schwanenteich together with the neighbourhood association Finow e.V..
Please bring gloves, grippers if possible and sturdy shoes as protective equipment. The Stadtteilverein Finow e.V. will provide refreshments at the Schwanenteich fairground.
The waste collected in rubbish bags will be placed at a designated collection point, which we will inform you of on site. We will report any unmanageable waste using the BDG waste app. The rubbish bags will then be collected from 13:00 by the Eberswalde municipal building yard.
