Youth
There are many good places to meet in Eberswalde. You probably know many more than we can list here. Of course, there are our two youth clubs in the Brandenburg neighbourhood and at the main railway station, which are always open to you. But there are also a few meeting places that we have designed for you and with you so that they invite you to spend a little more time there.
Club am Wald
At the Club am Wald youth centre, children and young people have many opportunities to spend their free time. There is a volleyball court, a skating and BMX facility as well as a table tennis table and a table football table on a large area. Various areas are available for voluntary use on the premises, e.g. a creative, cooking and media area, a chill-out corner and a pool table including a table football table.
The field of activity at the Club am Wald is based on open meeting point and group work. The programmes and activities are geared towards the interests, inclinations and needs of the visitors. Furthermore, topic-oriented individual and group discussions, information counselling and conflict counselling with problem identification are offered.

Youth Coordinator of the City of Eberswalde
Josefine Atlas
My work for young people in Eberswalde is made up of many different tasks, opportunities and stakeholders. Two youth clubs, youth social work (street work), activities and offers from various independent organisations, project funding, participation of and "lobbying" for the interests of young people - as a youth coordinator, I try to reconcile all of this. I often don't know what to do first ;-).
In addition to the pillars of youth promotion already described above, cooperation between young people, the administration and city policy can be used to create a Youth concept and promotion of the city of Eberswalde which has proposed concrete measures to further improve services for young people.
Promotion of child and youth work in the city of Eberswalde
Child and youth work in the city of Eberswalde is aimed at participation and emancipation. Alongside the family and the institutions of daycare and school, it represents an independent area of socialisation. Children and young people should be encouraged in their development and supported in realising their interests, as well as being given stimulating spaces in which to live and develop. In Eberswalde, children and young people are given the opportunity to actively and creatively engage with their own skills and potential, to develop these and to realise and live out their interests.
In particular, youth coordination involves observing the living environments of children and young people, young adults and families as well as initiating and supporting needs-based measures and programmes for the target group, always in cooperation with many stakeholders in children and youth work in Eberswalde, i.e. with associations, organisations and initiatives as well as with schools.
