Commemoration of the day of liberation

On 8 May 1945, the Second World War ended in Europe and with it the twelve-year National Socialist dictatorship in Germany. 81 years later, the victims were remembered together and the day of liberation commemorated.

Together with the deputy chairman of the city council, Ringo Wrase, deputy mayor Maik Berendt laid a wreath at the Soviet memorial in the forest cemetery. District Administrator Daniel Kurth and numerous representatives of city politics and society joined in the commemoration.
