Since 2008, the city of Eberswalde has been supporting private measures for environmental protection, nature conservation and environmental education via the "Environmental Projects" funding guideline. Private individuals, associations and companies can receive a maximum of 1,000 euros in funding. Projects are eligible for funding if they are located in the city of Eberswalde and their specific measures contribute to the efficiency of the ecosystem, the protection of flora and fauna and the diversity, uniqueness and beauty of nature and landscape as the basis of human life.

Last year, for example, several rainwater retention systems and a landscape model on the subject of moorland protection were implemented, and the community garden in the Brandenburg neighbourhood and the school garden in Ruhlaer Straße were further developed. In 2026 and 2027, 22,000 euros will be available in each year. The first environmental projects have already been approved, meaning that around 19,000 euros are still available.

Applications can be submitted with little effort. Both the funding guidelines and the application form are available on the Internet at eberswalde.de/environmentalprojects to find. If you have any questions, please contact Mr Renner by e-mail at j.renner@eberswalde.de or by telephone on 03334 / 64-626 and will also accept applications there.
