Education day for educational professionals in the city of Eberswalde

On 22 April 2026, it was not the voices of the little ones that filled the "Die coolen Füchse" after-school care centre in Eberswalde, but those of their teachers. The city of Eberswalde had invited children to the central education day in the recently renovated premises of the former educational centre at Eisenbahnstraße 100. Anke Bessel, Head of the Municipal Daycare Centres Department of the City of Eberswalde, emphasised that the continuous further training of specialists is a central component of the educational work in the daycare centres.

On Education Day at the municipal daycare centres, the city of Eberswalde offered around 240 professionals, including remedial and social education staff, neighbourhood specialists and language support staff, the opportunity to choose from ten different workshops. The topics ranged from working with families and dialogue-based communication to conflict management and current issues relating to values and norms in modern educational institutions. The variety of workshops enabled participants to deal with relevant topics in a targeted manner and gain new impetus for their daily work.

In order to keep up to date with the latest research and educational practice, the city administration's specialists regularly attend further training courses.

"The further training of our educational specialists is not only a benefit for the educators, but above all for the children in their care. Because they are constantly learning, we can offer the children high-quality care and support. Time and space for further training is time and space for children," explained Bernd Schlüter, Head of Social Affairs, Order and Culture for the city of Eberswalde.
