Finely seasoned: culture and culinary delights at "Essen ist fertig!"

Freshly prepared, finely seasoned and cooked to perfection: on Friday, 8 May 2026, the event series "Essen ist fertig! - Our summer in the city" starts a new season. A total of three times - each time from 5.30 pm to 9 pm - on the city's market square.

The recipe is as simple as it is convincing: a pinch of live music, a generous portion of culinary variety and an atmosphere that invites you to linger. Because "Essen ist fertig!" is not just a feast for the ears, the palate also gets its money's worth. The "Gustav" coffee house, Globus Naturkost, the Venezia Piazza ice cream parlour, the "Kochkommode" and the operator of the "Taska Toska" ice cream parlour will provide the right flavour.

A musical main course will be served right at the start: The "Janko Lauenberger Trio" brings French coffee house music in the style of Django Reinhardt and Stéphane Grappelli to the stage.

The menu reads like a well-stocked buffet: from sweet temptations such as crêpes and tiramisu to savoury classics such as venison sausage, currywurst or boulette - with cheddar gratin or hunter's sauce on request - to grilled cheese sandwiches, solyanka and burger variations. Seasonal specialities such as white asparagus with potatoes and hollandaise sauce are also on the menu. Refreshing accompaniments such as Finow Spritz, Limoncello-Spritz and selected wines from the Palatinate will be served.

The next courses are served in a double pack:

Two dates will come as a "menu": both the second edition on 29 May 2026 and the finale on 18 September 2026 will take place in combination with the "Eberswalde Shopping Night". Culture, culinary delights and shopping fun all in one evening.

A look into the second round

The "recommendation of the house" for 29 May 2026 has already been decided: Culinary delights include chips with homemade toppings and focaccia. Musically, the band "Midnight Crossing" will provide the right sound. The trio led by Canadian Alistair Christl serves up traditional bluegrass with three-part vocals.
