Following the completion of extensive expansion work, Fritz-Weineck-Straße was officially opened to traffic in the section from Bahnhofstraße to Schönholzer Straße on 27 March 2026.
The construction project comprised the expansion of the 240 metre long section over a total area of approx. 3,000 m². The planning was in the hands of Ingenieurgemeinschaft WTU GmbH from Bad Liebenwerda. THARO Straßen- und Tiefbau GmbH was responsible for the construction work. The work lasted from October 2024 to March 2026 and the city of Eberswalde is delighted to be able to hand over a modernised, safe and barrier-free road to its citizens that meets the requirements of traffic, the environment and the quality of life.

I am delighted that we are making progress on this important construction project section by section and can thus further improve the quality of life in our city," said Ilja Haub, Head of the Department of Construction and Urban Development.
