Proposals wanted: Volunteer award 2026

In 2026, Mayor Götz Herrmann and the "Volunteering" working group would once again like to honour citizens of the city of Eberswalde who have made a special commitment to volunteering.

The working group, led by Anna Wortberg, is asking for suggestions - accompanied by a meaningful explanation. The relevant form is available online ateberswalde.de/volunteeringis available online. It is also available from the volunteer agency in the Amadeu Antonio Citizens' Education Centre (Puschkinstraße 13) and at the Citizens' Information Desk in the town hall (Breite Straße 41 - 44).

People of all ages who have rendered outstanding services in or for Eberswalde can be nominated.

The award will be presented at a ceremony on Saturday, 5 December 2026 (Volunteer Day) and will be awarded in the categories "Social, Sport, Culture" and "Environmental, Nature and Animal Protection". The social area includes, for example, neighbourhood assistance, pastoral care, family support, integration and inclusion work, fire and disaster protection, child and youth work and intergenerational commitment.

In addition, charitable initiatives, associations, organisations and companies that are selflessly committed to the common good of the city in a special way can also be honoured.

Proposals from previous years that have not yet been considered can be resubmitted.
