Here you will find the most important information on media use, registration, opening hours and other services offered by Eberswalde City Library.

Services

You will need a valid identity document to register. Please also fill in our Registration form and print it out and bring it with you.

Free registration from 7 years (or school entry) up to and including 17 years (registration by parent or guardian).

Immediate loan possible.

The loan period of the media can be online on site or by telephone on 03334/64-420.

From the first day overdue 1 € per medium and week for late feeswill be charged.
ForChildren and young people up to the age of 17 will be charged €0.25 per item per week will be charged.
As soon as a written reminder has to be sent, additional reminder fees of €5 per week will be charged.

Offers for institutions

The reading series "Picture Book Journey in the City Library" serves to promote the language and media skills of daycare centre children and to familiarise them with the children's library for the first time.
The offer is primarily aimed at daycare centre groups with pre-school children and usually takes place every Tuesday from 9:30 am.

Thematic library tours can be arranged for day-care centres, school classes and groups. Everything can be arranged, from traditional reading aloud to research training for specialised work to individual options.

Institutions with an educational character can borrow media of all kinds free of charge and for an extended period of time. Please contact the library for the co-operation agreement. You can find the application form here.

We offer the opportunity to hold a lesson on our premises; we support this with subject-specific information sources and, if necessary, Internet PCs including printers. Information events for parents or school classes are also possible, just contact us for a suitable date.

At the Eberswalde City Library, we offer you the right space and, if required, we can also support you as a jury member - in addition to the general selection of literature. Please contact us to discuss dates and organisation.

We offer guided tours with research training for young pupils using the Actionbound app.

Not only books can be borrowed from the Eberswalde City Library. The stock is constantly being expanded with helpful everyday objects. We also offer games and sports equipment, musical instruments, energy-saving devices and much more for loan.

Anyone who has experienced storytelling theatre will understand the magic of this medium. Originally from Japan, the Kamishibai theatre has now also found its place here in Germany.
The Kamishibai can be booked as an event or borrowed with various stories.

People with visual impairments can use the services of the German Centre for Accessible Reading (dzbreading) are available free of charge. Here you can choose from over 60,000 media, including Braille books and music in Braille as well as audio books in DAISY format. Further information on registration can be obtained at any time from the Eberswalde City Library.

The city library has a total of four computer workstations with Internet access and a printer/scanner. Use is only available to registered users.
WLAN is freely available, even without registration.

We offer books and games that are especially suitable for people with dementia. Please contact us for a selection.
