Extreme heat warning for the weekend
Dear residents of Eberswalde,
TheGerman Weather Servicehas issued a warning of severe to extreme heat stress.
Please take this forecast heatwave seriously and look after your own health as well as that of those around you. Older people, children and those with underlying health conditions are particularly at risk in high temperatures.
To better protect yourself from the heat, we recommend:
- Drink water or other non-alcoholic drinks regularly.
- Avoid spending long periods in direct sunlight.
- Seek out shaded areas where possible or stay indoors in a cool, sheltered place.
- Wear light, pale-coloured clothing and a hat.
- Use sun cream with a sufficiently high sun protection factor.
- Where possible, avoid strenuous physical activity, particularly during the hottest part of the day.
- Keep an eye out for people who might need assistance.
If you experience symptoms such as dizziness, headaches, nausea or circulatory problems, go to a cool place immediately, drink plenty of fluids and seek help if necessary.
