A special exhibition at the Museum Eberswalde
On Friday, 20 October 2023, the new exhibition "Otto Nagel in Eberswalde" will open at 6 pm at the Museum Eberswalde. On display will be 15 paintings from the art collection of the Akademie der Künste Berlin, including city views of Berlin, portraits from the cycle "The New Man" and floral motifs. Two further works by Otto Nagel from private collections complete the new exhibition, for which a new gallery area has been created on the top floor of the museum.
Due to his already successful and very well-attended art exhibition "Otto Nagel - Menschensucher und Sozialist", the Museum Eberswalde was chosen by Dr Rosa von der Schulenburg, Director of the Art Collection of the Berlin Academy of Arts, as the permanent exhibition venue for the works of the Berlin artist.
"It is also Mrs von der Schulenburg's last exhibition before her retirement and an expression of the appreciation of the general conditions in our museum that we were selected for this exhibition from a dense field of interested parties. This addition to the Eberswalde Museum's programme has already attracted thousands of art-loving visitors from regions far beyond the borders of the city of Eberswalde. With the idea of presenting works by outstanding artists in addition to our permanent exhibition, the Museum of the City of Eberswalde has become a much-visited exhibition venue for art from the Berlin-Brandenburg region. This shows that something really good is being created here," says Birgit Klitzke, director of the museum.
