Eberswalde’s 2027 participatory budget: ‘Decision Day’ on 19 September 2026

On 19 September 2026, residents will be able to vote on the 2027 participatory budget during ‘Decision Day’.

On Saturday 19 September 2026, all residents of Eberswalde are warmly invited to the Paul-Wunderlich-Haus on the market square from 10 am to 6 pm to vote on the 2027 Citizens’ Budget on ‘Decision Day’. Taking part is very simple: every resident of Eberswalde aged 14 or over will receive five ‘voting talers’ on the day. These can be distributed individually and as you wish amongst the proposals submitted. Each proposal has its own vase into which the tokens can be placed. This gives everyone the opportunity to play an active part in shaping the town.

A total of 100,000 euros is available for projects this year. The City of Eberswalde received 80 proposals in the run-up to the vote, which were assessed for the city’s jurisdiction, feasibility and maximum cost limit. 46 proposals were approved in accordance with these criteria. A list of all the proposals submitted can be found in theOfficial Gazette for the City of Eberswalde, issue 07/2026.

To vote in person, all you need is a valid identity card. Anyone unable to attend in person can also vote conveniently and easily online ateberswalde.de/abstimmen. Online voting is open from now until Friday, 18 September 2026, at around 12 noon.

Mayor Götz Herrmann will open the ‘Day of Decision’ at 10.00 am. Visitors can look forward to a varied programme of cultural and educational activities. At 10.30 am, ‘Guten-Morgen-Eberswalde’ will also take place as usual.
