‘Regenbogen’ nursery reopens following refurbishment
A modern childcare centre in the heart of Eberswalde
Following a period of refurbishment, the “Regenbogen” nursery at Pfeilstraße 13 officially reopened its doors on 24 August 2026. Mayor Götz Herrmann and the acting head of the nursery, Kristin Hoffmann, cut the ribbon together with the nursery children.
The centre has capacity for 100 children and is now run by the local authority. Initially, the after-school care centre will look after 48 children from the second year at the Bruno-H.-Bürgel School. The first enrolments for nursery children have also already been received.
The town of Eberswalde invested around 593,500 euros in the refurbishment of the building. The work included, amongst other things, the renovation of the entrance steps, the construction of the rainbow that gives the centre its name, and extensive measures to drain the basement.
At the opening, families, children and guests were able to see the new rooms and the outdoor area for themselves. With this reopening, a new chapter begins for the “Regenbogen” nursery as a modern childcare centre in the heart of Eberswalde.
