Regional history as a podcast
How can regional history be presented in a contemporary way? Students at the Eberswalde University for Sustainable Development (HNEE), in collaboration with the Eberswalde Museum, are demonstrating how this can be achieved. This collaborative project has produced the podcast ‘Spritzkuchen und Falschgeld – Der Geschichtspodcast’, which presents historical topics in an accessible and entertaining way.
In the latest episode, HNEE students Lennart Rust and Jette Becher take their listeners on a journey through the history of Eberswalde – from the earliest days of settlement, through its industrial and forestry history, to its development into a modern university town. The project combines the museum’s expertise with the students’ creative media work, making regional history digitally accessible to a wide audience.
The podcast has been available on all major podcast platforms since May 2026.
