Virtual Building Authority (VBA) to launch on 1 September 2026
From 1 September 2026, the Town Planning Office of the City of Eberswalde will introduce electronic planning applications via the Virtual Planning Office (VBA). From this date onwards, planning applications can be submitted entirely digitally. This has been announced by Arco Auschner, head of the city’s Building Control Office.
The introduction of the Virtual Building Authority is taking place as part of the implementation of the relevant provisions of the new Brandenburg Building Regulations and the requirements of the E-Government Act. Once the VBA is launched, it will no longer be possible to submit paper-based building applications for construction projects in Eberswalde.
Digital applications are submitted via the State of Brandenburg’s portal:
“We expect the introduction of the Virtual Building Authority to result in a generally faster processing of building applications,” explains Arco Auschner, Head of the Building Control Office. “The technical preparations are largely complete, and staff have received comprehensive training. I therefore expect the transition to proceed largely without any problems.”

Important:The changeover on 1 September 2026 applies exclusively to building applications for construction projects within the Eberswalde municipal area.
