What is the Spokesperson Council?

The Residents’ Council is a body within the Brandenburg Quarter (BV) that contributes to the development of the neighbourhood. The council votes on project proposals and the associated allocation of funding, discusses necessary actions and possible solutions, and is regularly informed about the current state of development in the area.

About the Spokesperson Council

The Spokesperson Council was first established in 2003. The term of office is usually two years. The Residents’ Council consists of a minimum of 7 and a maximum of 21 members. Its tasks include, amongst other things, developing joint project concepts and guidelines, as well as coordinating the various measures, identifying further areas requiring action and potential solutions, and much more.

Who are the members of the Spokesperson Council?

The Spokesperson Council comprises the Neighbourhood Management (QM), representatives of the residents, housing associations, and active associations, initiatives and organisations from the BV. The council currently consists of 17 members. The last constituent meeting to reorganise the council took place on 7 November 2024. At this meeting, the rules of procedure were also revised and amended.

Who is eligible to stand for election as a member?

Anyone who is at least 16 years old and either lives in the BV or works or volunteers there may apply.

When will the Spokesperson Council be reorganised?

The next election will take place in the final quarter of 2026.
